At Coastal RC, the track surface is CRC black carpet, so there's no shortage of traction. There's a distinct lack of dirt, but the jumps won't leave any doubt what Off Road racing is all about on the 88 x 52FT surface that sees a regular rotation of layout and jump features.

Rules can be a bummer, but racing on a "level field" is hopefully enough reward to get through this bit.
Efforts are being made through the class listings to help represent popular classes based on turnout. Classes are not completely ranked, however, those listed in the "Weekly" category have a much firmer chance of being run regularly.

General: This class is in the spirit of the golden days of “Stage 2″ monster trucking as seen on the TNT or USHRA racing circuit of the late 80’s. This is the period where the lumbering early monsters (i.e., Stage 1) gave way to lighter, more powerful trucks with racing as the main purpose. The basis for the vehicles were modified stock pickups or heavy-duty boxed frames. Some crazy designs also sprang up (tank trucks or other such oddities). Suspensions were still relatively slow and stiff and as such it made for wild, unpredictable events. The idea is to recreate this era with R/C.
Axles: Truck must have two solid axles either shaft driven or motor on axle (MOA)
Transmission: Shaft driven trucks must have a centrally mounted transmission with two driveshafts to the axles (no center diff). Not applicable to MOA style trucks.

Motors: Two (2) 27 turn sealed end bell, non-rebuildable motors. (Examples, Stock Tamiya silver cans or axial 27t)
Battery: 2s battery limit no more than 7.4v nominal voltage and no higher that 100c discharge rate. (Hard Case)
Steering: 2- or 4- wheel steering
Shocks: No maximum number or length. May be oil filled or friction.
Suspension: Shocks must be axles mounted. No 4-link setups or 4-link triangulation of any kind, with the exception of a stock Tamiya Juggernaut with leaf springs. Sway bars, sway brackets or sway braces (of any kind) are illegal. Any pivot-style or similar suspension setup is illegal.
