Coastal R/C Vintage 2WD Buggy Rules

Our main goal with the vintage race series is to be a throwback to when R/C first got its big start in the 80’s and 90’s. This class will mix vintage and period-correct reproduction chassis with modern electronics for maximum fun! Below are the guidelines for this class:

· ALL 2WD REAR MOTOR BUGGIES 1997 AND EARLIER. 

 Examples – Team Associated RC10, RC10B2, RC10B3. Losi JRX2, XX. Kyosho Ultima, Triumph, Pro X, etc. 

· Period-correct 2WD Buggy re-release/reproductions also permitted, to include:

Team Associated RC10, Kyosho Ultima, etc.

· ROAR approved minimum 17.5T Brushless Motor

 w/ ROAR approved ESC in blinky mode

· 27T Brushed minimum

· ROAR approved LiPo/LiHV battery (2s Maximum)

· NiMh (7-cell maximum)

· 8.4V max voltage pre-tech

· Radio, transmitter, receiver, aux cooling fan(s) and servo are open

· Modern 2.2” 2WD buggy wheels and tires

· Classic 1.6” - 1.9” 2WD buggy wheels and tires

· NO AGGRESSIVE DIRT TIRES! MUST BE CARPET FRIENDLY!

· All chassis may run any shocks/springs up to a maximum 13mm piston diameter

· Unless mentioned above, all upgrades should be period-correct and fit the spirit of the class. Examples include:

 RPM or Andy’s control arms

Titanium turnbuckles

MIP CVD axles

Stealth transmissions

· No mid-motor conversions

· No aggressive dirt tires – must be carpet-friendly!

· Chassis protectors required

· Shock tower protectors required
